Welcome to Stanford Dumpsters!
Formally titled the Stanford Waste Sorting and Reclamation Project, we are on a mission to reduce the amount of waste heading to the landfill by working at the back-end of the waste cycle. We dive into dumpsters, sort trash, and donate or repurpose salvageable trash goodies. Through our project and its documentation here, we’ll show you the massive quantity and ridiculous quality of waste that we produce here at Stanford.
Down to Get Dirty?
This is about the environment, but don’t let that fool you into thinking dumpster diving isn’t incredible fun. We always have spare protective gear on hand. We dive Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm, and Sundays from 2:30ppm-3:30pm. If you’d like to join us for a dumpster diving adventure, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This weekly(ish) blog shows our dumpster finds, documents notable adventures, uncovers horrendous (or non-existent) waste-sorting practices, and celebrates waste sorted well. View our recent posts below!
